SUMMARY:

An established agrochemical manufacturer is seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to ensure the technical availability of assigned assets by managing maintenance/reliability activities and ensuring regulatory compliance regarding inspection and obligations in the area of responsibility.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Must have a Degree in a Technical discipline and a GCC factories qualification
5-10 years combined experience in engineering and/or manufacturing will be required
Must have a proven track record of working in Project and/or Maintenance roles within the chemical industry
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and knowledge of CMMS are important
Good communication, project management, leadership skills is essential
Must have a good understanding of supporting processes associated with operations and maintenance

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Implementing the maintenance strategy and availability policy on the site to ensure the operability, reliability, and integrity of the assigned assets and oversees the maintenance budget.
Planning and executing, directing and supervising the technical activities and functions in the plant in order to meet the objectives as agreed with the Site Technical Manager.
Assisting the production manager in evaluating and achieving plant performance goals related to capacity, operability/availability, economy, integrity, quality, health, safety, and environment.
Implementing standard procedures, processes, systems, tools and KPIs to drive continuous improvement for Asset Utilization in all facilities on site.
Taking responsibility for an effective plant technical team, empowering its members, and fostering their cooperation.
Ensuring people development in the site's reliability/maintenance community and identifying and providing resource needs and skill sets required in achieving availability targets and goals.
Identifying, evaluating, and implementing knowledge and good practice transfer between the Maintenance Technicians.
Taking responsibility for troubleshooting and analytical problem solving of critical/repetitive problems of assets and processes by doing Root Cause Analysis.
Managing the maintenance activities related to inspection and repairs of the assigned assets through initiating, monitoring, and tracking of work orders.
Ensuring that all maintenance activities are being completed within the scheduled time.
Ensuring that maintenance materials and spare parts are properly inventoried and available.
Prioritising and coordinating maintenance activities between maintenance and production team.
Preparing and adapting maintenance plans on CMMS and assisting production and technical teams to establish/improve preventive maintenance plans.
Operating the SAP (DMS) system to ensure that work orders are processed and completed as scheduled.
Creating and maintaining plant technical documentation and updating the technical documentation and records.
Optimising equipment/process steps and unit operations related to production, utilities and logistics with regard to safety, environmental, economical, quality and regulatory aspects.
Ensuring up-to-date knowledge about relevant internal regulations, legislation, SOP’s and Technical Good Practices.
Communicating to the maintenance team to assure compliance in the field of asset reliability/maintenance/HAZOP’s etc.
Ensuring that ‘Permit to Work’ and other relevant procedures (lock out system) are being followed.
Coordinating and managing the internal and external service providers.
