SUMMARY:
A leading manufacturing operation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Engineer to join its technical and engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal plant performance through effective maintenance strategies, engineering support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Role Purpose

To manage and optimise plant equipment reliability, availability, and efficiency by leading maintenance engineering functions, implementing improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards within a manufacturing environment.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Oversee maintenance engineering strategies to ensure maximum plant uptime and reliability Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for equipment failures Develop and manage maintenance budgets, spares, and lifecycle asset plans Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, etc.) Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company engineering standards Manage contractors and engineering service providers on site Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and problem-solving Plan and execute plant shutdowns and major maintenance projects Analyse equipment performance data and implement optimisation strategies Lead and mentor maintenance teams and technical personnel Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree or BTech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Factories (advantageous or required depending on plant) 5-10 years' experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment Strong knowledge of mechanical and\/or electrical maintenance systems Proven experience in plant maintenance, reliability engineering, or asset management Strong understanding of PLC systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation (advantageous) Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP PM, Pragma, Maximo) Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills Key Competencies Engineering and technical expertise Strong analytical and fault-finding ability Leadership and team management Project management and planning skills Strong communication and stakeholder engagement High attention to detail and safety compliance
