Plant Manager, Crushing Services - East Rand

SUMMARY:
Plant Manager to lead and manage the team. The successful incumbent will be familiar with mining standard equipment and hold a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree or related Trade.

POSITION INFO:

Our client currently has an opportunity for an experienced Plant Manager to lead and manage the team. The successful incumbent will be familiar with mining standard equipment and hold a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree or related Trade. This position will require extensive travel to various sites in South Africa.

Reports to: Managing Director
Job titles for direct reports: Plant Superintendents
Travel requirements: Extensive travelling to various sites in South Africa
Job description / core competencies:

Ensuring understanding and adherence to the plant maintenance procedure by all Site Mechanics.
Conducting frequent over-inspections on all plant (see quarterly inspections - plant maintenance procedure).
Attend to machine breakdowns as a matter of urgency.
Ensuring all machine inspections are conducted as per set schedule and signed off by relevant parties.
Planning tyre and undercarriage replacements in a timeously and cost-effective manner.
Ensuring all actionable wear check feedback is actioned correctly and timeously.
As far as reasonably possible, ensuring critical spares and components are repaired and available before breakdowns occur.
Ensuring safety procedures are adhered to when maintenance work is conducted, i.e. risk assessments and energy isolation.
Conduct root cause analysis on larger component failures (engines, transmissions, etc.) and implement ensuing improvements.
Be actively involved with all plant-related disciplinary actions.
Provide continuous feedback to Site Managers on issues related to their sites.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Proven work experience as a Plant Manager.
Proven managerial experience.
Familiarity with mining industry standard equipment will be an advantage.
Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree or related Trade.
Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
