Portfolio Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client based in Centurion within the insurance space is currently looking for a Portfolio Accountant to join their team

POSITION INFO:

To assist Portfolio Reporting across various business segments, as well as consolidation of Portfolio Reporting across the comany.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Effectively and consistently delivering service and support to external and internal clients.
• Providing the required systems and/or applications support for implemented solutions, specifically focussed on IFRS4 and IFRS17.
• Solving unresolved queries without compromising time, communication and effectiveness principles.
• Identifying financial and business risks to the company and escalate/address accordingly.
• Performing quarterly reporting functions to various stakeholders, with specific focus on profit reporting.
• Analysis of deliverables to various stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor of Commerce: Financial Accounting essential; (CA) SA.
• Detailed knowledge and experience of Accounting processes and IFRS standards (specific focus on IFRS4, IFRS16 and IFRS17).
• Product accounting and profit reporting knowledge will be beneficial.
• 3 – 5 years Tax, Insurance and Asset Management experience.
• Understanding of actuarial valuation processes and interaction with financial reporting will be highly beneficial.
• Knowledge and experience of Regulatory reporting processes.
