JOB SUMMARY:
Portfolio Administrator needed in the Northan Suburbs 

JOB DESCRIPTION:


1) General Portfolio Administration (CIS, Models or Wrap Funds and Securities)

Focusing on the following operational processes:
  • Product set-up, maintenance & record keeping.
  • Managing & controlling all transactions processed between relevant parties namely, LISP, investment administrator, investment manager & underlying fund manager.

  1. Set-up & maintenance of Trading instructions, input & send authorised trade instructions on behalf of the investment manager.
  2. Monitor & check execution of trade instructions via the pricing administrator
  3. Monthly monitoring of portfolio positions provided by LISP.
  4. Confirmation that portfolios conform to latest Investment Committee mandates & all regulatory requirements
  5. Using Morningstar reports and excel models to maintain a performance tracker.
  6. Use of the Performance tracker in multiple monthly client reports, Fund Fact Sheets, Attribution reports, AUM reports & other ad-hoc reporting.
  7. Asset allocation capturing and Total AA calculation.
  8. Creating and Pulling graphs, tables & other information between different programs into Reporting Format.
  9. Analyse fee splits between respective parties.
  10. Maintaining a database of Underlying Fund Managers fees & Rebates, as well as monitoring the fee split between the IFA, LISP & Investment Manager, so that all fees are justifiable to relevant parties
  11. Monitoring & reporting to management of the adherence or non-adherence by all appointed fund managers to the contractual obligations as defined by the investment manager agreement signed by the investment manager & the appointed fund manager.
  12. Monthly reporting on an FFS basis and report packs to Partners on each Model.

  • Minimum of one year of experience working in financial services and/or investment management.
  • Basic understanding of comprehensive personal financial instruments, investment vehicles, asset allocation, and concepts of portfolio design / diversification.
  • Familiarity with investments, including concepts of portfolio design and diversification.



  • Annual leave entitlement will be at 21 days per annum.
  • You shall be entitled to paid sick leave for bona fide illness or injury in terms of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
  • We give an extra day leave a month at Management discretion depending on the number of Sick days taken during the month and/or capacity issues.
  • Hours of employment are from 08:00 to 16:30 hours from Monday to Friday with 30 minute lunch break in between. Lunch is provided from Monday to Thursday
