POSITION INFO:
This role sits within a leading commercial risk and insurance environment known for its proactive approach to risk management and dataâdriven decisionâmaking across Southern Africa.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to pricing, profitability analysis, underwriting support, and strategic actuarial work while being mentored by experienced actuarial professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform actuarial analyses to support the pricing of new and renewal business.
Assist with the development and review of premium and rating structures.
Support formal profitability reviews and contribute to margin management.
Prepare and analyse loss and expense reserves to assess pricing adequacy and strategic direction.
Provide actuarial insight and technical support to underwriting teams on pricing decisions.
Actively progress toward actuarial qualification while developing technical capability.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Actively pursuing actuarial qualification through a recognised professional body.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an actuarial or analytical environment.
- Exposure to insurance pricing, profitability, or actuarial modelling preferred.
- Experience across multiple actuarial or insurance functions will be advantageous.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Exposure to statistical and actuarial modelling techniques.
- Basic experience with data manipulation tools, such as Python, R, or SAS, is advantageous.
NonâNegotiables:
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional communication skills and a positive, selfâdriven attitude.
- English proficiency required (additional languages advantageous).
