SUMMARY:

Process Draughtsperson (Contract) for the Mining & Minerals Division

POSITION INFO:

Main Purpose of the Role:

To produce project related process diagrams and process instructions
Completion of diagrams according to man hour budgets and schedules
Completion of error free diagrams to good drafting practices
Complete all administrational functions related to function

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Production of diagrams for process discipline in relevant department design packages
Produce electronic and hardcopy diagrams and related data files
Work in conjunction with multi-disciplinary engineers / designers
Timely and accurate completion of diagrams to schedules
Adherence to man hour budgets
Adherence to company / department standards and procedures
Multi-task project diagrams and miscellaneous tasks as directed by the Section Lead / Process Engineer, to meet deadlines
Work overtime from time to time as per project requirement
Solve problems of a routine nature with ample precedent or clearly defined procedures
Perform validation checks on all diagrams, databases and lists/reports generated
Assist with training of peers/new designers, if and when requested by the Section Lead
Assist with uphold of standards, procedures and any relevant documentation, if and when requested by the Section Lead/Senior Process Designer.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years Process Design experience of which at least 2 years is in the mining and mineral processing area.
Proficient in AutoCAD
Desirable:
Proficiency with AVEVA P&ID or intelligent P&ID software

Knowledge, skills and experience:

Understanding of the composition and purpose of process drawings and associated documentation.
Well developed computer skills with keen knowledge of related drafting software packages including AutoCAD, relational databases and excel spreadsheets.
Good communication skills.
Methodical approach to allocated work areas.
Must be able to work under pressure.

Desirable:

Basic excel knowledge.

Personal attributes:

Must be a team player.
Must have a amicable attitude.

The process/designer team follows an electronic workflow that requires attention to detail.
Applicant should be able to work from home if the company requires this pending Covid lock-down regulations
Experience in the mining process design field and with other drawing packages will be an advantage.

This job will entail using markup drawings from process engineers and creating/modifying either a Process Flow Diagram (PFD) or a Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) in AutoCAD.
