SUMMARY:
A leading pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Ballito is seeking a Procurement Officer to oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and excipients.

POSITION INFO:
The role ensures timely delivery, cost-efficiency, and supplier compliance with regulatory and quality standards to meet production requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:

Monitor inventory on SAP.
MRP processing raw materials.

Purchase Order Management:

Place purchase orders timeously.
Follow up on purchase order dates.
Communicate collection requirements with Logistics.

Controls and Optimization:

Monitor and negotiate pricing.
Supplier monitoring and performance/evaluations.
Forecasting on customer demand.
Maintain and update approved raw materials lists.
Evaluate suppliers on pricing, service and quality.

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in the relevant field
Minimum of 8–10 years of proven work experience
Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to perform well under pressure
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills related to purchasing and inventory
Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable
Highly organized with excellent time management abilities
