SUMMARY:
Our client, a market leader in their field, is current looking for a Procurement Officer Ã¢Â€Â“ Sourcing to fill their 12-month fixed term contract need.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Job Requirements:

Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management.
5 years working experience in purchasing of which 1 to 2 years must be in chemical manufacturing.
SAP experience is essential.
Experience with ERP systems (BAAN, SAP or similar ERP system experience).

Responsibilities and Duties:

Supplier Relationship Management - develop, manage and maintain a positive supplier relationship.
Total Cost Management - effectively review and assess the value propositions to ensure optimal return.
Procurement Planning - ensure effective alignment between Purchasing and Planning to meet customer requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement and projects.
SHERQ Management - maintain and improve SHEQ performance within the department.

Competencies:

Good knowledge of Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing Principles, Supply Chain fundamentals, understanding of inventory costing methodology and procedures.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and ERP systems and capabilities.
Resourceful.
Able to handle pressure.
An assertive problem solver with decision making abilities and a team member who is self-motivated.
Must have good business acumen.
Able to communicate at all levels, be organized and self-disciplined.
