SUMMARY:
My client in Sandton is looking for a Product Owner - HR Group Data to join their team.

POSITION INFO:

  • Interpret data management regulations, analyse data across multiple systems, and design solutions to enable HR teams and the Group to meet global regulatory data management obligations.
  • Partner closely with IT and engineering teams to drive delivery of new features for HR data management solutions and systems.
  • Lead the planning, definition, and alignment of data requirements and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and verifying technical feasibility.
  • Prepare and submit annual budget, analysing revenue and expenditure projections to secure that they meet the Group’s objectives.
  • Manage assigned projects, including delivering within scope, time, and budget and coordinating multi-functional internal resources and third parties.
  • Translate HR data product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
  • Work across multiple project teams on day-to-day operations and propose feasible solutions as issues arise.
  • Identify gaps in HR processes / data management and work with appropriate team members to implement solutions and improvements.
  • Design and implement a control framework to maintain the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of HR data.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in data management regulations and data flows relevant to the HR field and the Group business.
  • Interpret and specify the impact of business and regulatory change on HR data management. Maintain a roadmap for regulatory change and control enhancements.
  • Actively engages in industry research in order to keep the department up to date on leading people data practices and drive adoption of leading practices related to people data management
  • Maintain and prioritise a backlog of work for the data and reporting team. Present status updates, risks, and issues to the HR team.
  • Proactively identify regulatory data management issues and develop action plans to address them effectively and timely.
  • Work with IT teams to clarify requirements, refine, prioritize, and support the development, testing, and release of data management functionality, and review software increments.
  • Control and maintain regulatory data management functional specifications and test scenarios. Drive increased use of automated testing.
  • Coordinate with HR teams to verify that management of data and daily exception monitoring is effective.
  • Create presentations and demos to help train internal teams and educate users on roadmap and new functionality.
  • Champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for HR data management in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Apply evidence-based SHE practices, in alignment with set standards, to ensure safe operations.
  • Implement the Group''s risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to use data driven insights and solutions to enhance HR data management.
  • Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete, implement, and track personal development plan to attain personal performance goals.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • 11 years experience 
  • Bachelor''s degree in Information Systems or Social Science (Psychology) with specialization in Information Technology
  • Sound knowledge in leading data & analytics capabilities, implementing and embedding data management processes and practices. 
  • Statistical data analysis
  • Platforms / Tools knowledge such as Azure, SAP Business Warehous (BW), SuccessFactors (People) Analystics and Visualisation tools such as Power BI and / or Tableau
