Production Manager – Electrical Manufacturing

ð Hartebeespoort, North West
A well-established engineering and manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead operations at its electrical manufacturing facility. The site focuses on the assembly of medium voltage (MV) switchgear and protection & control panels, including both in-house and OEM-based designs.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all production and assembly activities within the facility
Ensure timely delivery of MV switchgear and control panels in line with project schedules
Lead and optimise production planning, workflow, and resource allocation
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
Ensure compliance with quality standards and engineering specifications
Manage and develop production teams, including technicians and artisans
Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards across operations
Collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams to support production objectives

Minimum Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field
Trade Test (Electrician) advantageous
5–10 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role
Strong experience with MV switchgear and/or protection & control panels
Exposure to OEM designs (e.g. Siemens) is highly advantageous

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and team management ability
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Solid technical understanding of MV systems and panel assembly
Problem-solving and decision-making capability
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
High attention to quality, safety, and operational excellence
