Production Manager - Metrology - Engineering

SUMMARY:
A well know International Engineering Company requires the above to meet business objectives of revenue generation in the Workshop and Metrology sections, maintaining optimum operating costs of the business at all times.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Tertiary qualification in Operations Management or Production Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Industrial) or related qualification is essential.
• Previous experience having worked in an Operations or Production or related Management role within the Manufacturing Industry is essential.
• Must have a proven understanding of the Trade and Metrology Act, National Standard NRCS1529-1 and 9, as well as experience having worked in a SANAS accredited facility Is preferred.
• The successful candidate must be results-driven, have a high level of technical competence, with a clear Business Acumen is assessing risks and business decisions.
• Must have a good knowledge of the Operation and Maintenance of a facility, as well as understanding Instrumentation, Programming and working on Test Benches.
• Must demonstrate the ability to influence, lead and build strong teams across all disciplines and deliver on targets set.
• Previous experience having set up Production Process as well as experience in lean principles, continuous improvement and TPM is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Drive, Manage and optimise operational costs and quality processes to meet Production and Sales targets.
• Ensure all Operations comply with OSHAC standards including alignment to the Company’s Health, Safety and Environment policy as well as SANAS accreditation requirements and NRCS certification.
• Work with ESH to deliver “Zero “safety environment, ensuring that every effort is made to minimize accidents.
• Improve principles and analytical problem-solving techniques, assisting with fault identification, ensuring accurate completion of Production logs and job cards.
• Maintain and improve Product income levels through waste and cost reduction and improvement plans as well as ERP material workflow.
• Support the Sales and Marketing teams in building strong relationships with Key Clients.
• Work collaboratively with Sales and Support Teams to foster a culture of continuous process improvement and teamwork.
• Evaluate and enhance the unit’s performance, including continuous improvement of people, process, technologies and systems.
• Perform regular ISO aligned risk analysis to Capital, Process and Human Resources, communicate findings and play an integral role in mitigating, managing risks and potential impact.
