SUMMARY:
Our client in the telecoms sector that is situated around Midrand requires a Programme Manager for a contract role until March 2022, with a possibility of renewal.

POSITION INFO:

Key responsibilities:
·         Manage program planning
·         Monitor and facilitate programs across teams (internal and external)
·         Work across business and technology layers to deliver complex and highly interdependent solutions
·         Manage and deliver complex and key strategic initiatives across vendors and BUs
·         Manage external dependencies, ensuring alignment across key partners and vendors
·         Manage the deployment of all releases into production and define / assess release readiness according to business requirements
·         Coordinate and communicate the release pipeline to deliver frequent releases across business outcomes.
·         Continuously improve release processes, implementing best practices consistent with agile methodologies
·         Track and report on release progress internally and externally
·         Track and manage risks and issues of the delivery teams
·         Facilitate the resolution of impediments within span of influence. Escalate appropriately.
·         Manage Jira maintenance and status reporting
·         Provide status reports into Scrum of Scrums, PO Sync, SteerCos as required for delivery items to stakeholders
·         Effective disruption and rollover management and reporting
·         Manage planning and delivery from external vendors
·         Manage internal squad members during planning and delivery i.e. architects, QA
·         Facilitate intergroup communication and dependency resolution, specifically helping to keep information moving so that the teams can focus on delivery.
·         Facilitate alignment dependencies between the program team and third parties, release managers, or between the team and other Scrum Teams.
·         Planning and delivery of VFS digital SMME business capability in-line with organisational-wide Programme Increment (PI) process
·         Planning and delivery of internal technology-driven capability in-line with appropriate level of prioritization from operational and technology areas
·         Execute Agile Release Train based on agreed PI Objectives
·         Assist to translate the overall digital vision and target architecture into corresponding solution designs and change requirements
·         Assist with design of end-to-end solutions and cross domain integration and APIs
·         Assist with defining non-functional, security, operational, and quality requirements for solutions
·         Assist with defining technical stories to enable business capabilities, fostering re-use of existing components, and accept technical features following demos
·         Collaborate to plan the release of technical stories
·         Provide guidance to delivery teams to ensure alignment
·         Facilitate solution compliance to security, privacy, and regulatory needs
·         Manage technical debt and technology obsolescence at solution level
·         Advocate adoption of new technologies into solutions
·         Support the Product Owner in prioritisation, planning and PI preparation
·         Facilitating key agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives
·         Monitor and optimize agile processes and practices
·         Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and team learning
·          Coordinate with other delivery teams, stakeholders, and partners to manage risks, interdependencies, and impediments to the team.

Required technical / professional qualifications: 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field

·         Minimum 10 years IT experience

·         Minimum 10 years’ experience in the financial payment services industry

·         Minimum 5 years relevant experience as a programme manager or senior project manager managing in excess of 20 projects per quarter with disruption

·         POS device experience is preferable (> 5 years)

·         Proven experience managing delivery with external parties and managing multiple teams

·         Experience in delivering complex digital capabilities

·         Experience leading teams using waterfall/agile methodologies in large-scale teams

·         Certifications in traditional Project Management practices, e.g., Prince 2, PMP preferred

·         JIRA/Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent experience preferred

·         Certifications is agile project management e.g. Certified Agile coach, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM)

·         Experience working with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban
