Project Control Scheduler, Remote, Cape Town

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Project Control Scheduler for a permanent remote role based in Cape Town, Western Cape.

POSITION INFO:
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Tertiary degree in architecture, engineering, construction, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Suitable experience may substitute the requirement for a tertiary degree
• Minimum of five years in project controls and CPM scheduling in the Built Environment
• Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6
• Must have excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to interpret construction documents accurately
• Strong oral and written communication
• Understanding construction methodologies, practice and consequences
• Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Willingness to travel to site construction locations as needed – must have valid drivers

• Develop, maintain and oversee construction CPM schedules
• Analyze project documents and specifications to create accurate baseline schedules, encompassing all necessary dates, activities, and milestones
• Update progress schedules with detailed reporting and narratives
• Assess project schedules and provide recommendations to align with execution goals
• Conduct critical path analyses, identify scheduling issues, and suggest corrective actions
• Monitor contractor progress and present findings to management for informed decision-making
• Create metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks to support the program
• Manage and report on costs and resources
• Identify and assess risks and impacts within project schedules
• Effectively communicate project status and challenges
