Project Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC& I) Engineer

Our Client, a well-established, leading JSE listed BEE Open-pit Mining Company, providing construction materials and industrial minerals, is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Project EC& I Engineer to be based in their Lyttleton, Centurion Operations.

Their Engineering Projects Division (part of the Technology Cluster) has a vacancy for a Project Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC& I) Engineer.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• BTech/BEng/BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar/relevant);
• More than 3 years’ experience on Engineering projects
• Based in their Centurion, Lyttelton Mine
• Willing to travel to Company sites
• Have own vehicle and driver’s license
• Willing and fast learner, with a self-driven attitude
• Experience in MCC design and plant automation

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Report into the Head of Engineering Projects and Project Management team.
• EC&I Engineering Designs which may include, but not limited to,
  • Electrical Equipment sizing and calculations for MCC’s, PLC’s and similar
  • Electrical Single Line Diagrams
  • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Schematic Diagrams
  • Cable Sizing and Calculations
  • Cable Rack and Routing Design
  • Control Philosophy and Functional Design Specifications
  • Instrumentation Selection & IO Lists
  • Create Scope of Works documentation for contractors.
  • Attend and sign off on Factory Acceptance Tests.
  • Oversee site installations.
  • Commissioning of new installations.
  • Attend site meetings to understand system requirements.
