Project Proposal Manager

SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Project Manager / Proposal Manager to manage the complete project lifecycle—from interpreting customer enquiries and developing technical proposals through to project execution, delivery, and customer handover.

This individual will act as the critical link between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Clients, ensuring projects are commercially viable, technically accurate, delivered on time, and within budget.

The successful candidate will combine strong engineering knowledge with exceptional commercial awareness and project management capability.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Proposal & Tender Management Review RFQs, tender documentation and customer specifications. Prepare technical and commercial proposals. Develop costing models and pricing strategies. Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Coordinate quotation inputs from Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing. Perform technical clarifications with customers. Conduct commercial risk assessments. Ensure proposals meet contractual and technical requirements. Prepare bid documentation and tender submissions. Project Management Manage projects from award through to completion. Develop project schedules and implementation plans. Coordinate Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing and Installation activities. Monitor project milestones and budgets. Manage project risks and mitigation plans. Ensure project profitability. Conduct project review meetings. Prepare executive progress reports. Manage customer expectations throughout project execution. Coordinate commissioning and project close-out. Client & Stakeholder Management Act as the primary project interface with customers. Build long-term client relationships. Lead technical and commercial meetings. Manage project communication. Resolve technical and commercial issues. Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers. Work closely with international suppliers where applicable. Commercial Management Monitor project profitability. Manage project budgets. Control scope changes. Negotiate variation orders. Evaluate commercial risks. Assist with strategic pricing. Support contract negotiations. Monitor project cash flow. Supply Chain & Procurement Coordinate procurement activities. Manage supplier performance. Monitor critical material deliveries. Ensure manufacturing schedules align with project requirements. Coordinate imports where required. Support inventory planning for projects. Engineering Coordination Review engineering documentation. Coordinate design approvals. Interpret process flow diagrams and engineering drawings. Support manufacturing planning. Ensure engineering compliance with project specifications. Participate in FAT and SAT activities where applicable. Continuous Improvement Improve proposal processes. Standardise quotation templates. Develop project management procedures. Improve reporting dashboards. Identify opportunities to improve margins. Support ERP improvements. Implement project best practices. Minimum Qualifications Essential Bachelor's Degree in: Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Chemical Engineering Process Engineering Advantageous Project Management Professional (PMP) PRINCE2 MBA GCC (Advantageous) Minimum Experience 5-10 years Project Management experience. Proposal Management experience. Tender Management. Industrial manufacturing. Engineering projects. Mining industry. EPC projects. Technical sales support. Industrial filtration (Highly Advantageous). Technical textiles (Highly Advantageous).
