Projects Officer

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Public Sector has an opportunity available for a Projects Officer. This will be fixed term position for 1 year.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with Project Management as a major;
• Three (3) years’ demonstrable project management support experience;
• High level understanding of the higher education sector;
• Good understanding of the National Qualification Framework (NQF) in general, and the HEQSF in particular;
• High level proficiency in computer applications, including the use of project management and statistical data analysis packages;
• Demonstrable knowledge of budgeting processes and financial management;
• Good understanding of supply chain management processes within the context of the Public Financial Management Act and the relevant National Treasury regulations.
• Computer skills with particular emphasis on Excel, project management and statistical data analysis packages

KPAs:

• Providing administrative and technical project management support 
• Handling the procurement of resources and services required for projects, working in close cooperation with staff in Supply Chain Management (SCM)
• Maintaining project schedules or plans and monitoring the extent to which project teams adhere to them
• Maintaining a repository of essential project records and documents
• Assisting the Director and Managers with compiling project reports, both progress as well as final reports
• Liaising with project stakeholders, responding to their queries and providing necessary project information to them
