SUMMARY:
Our client, a reputable property development company based in Somerset West, is seeking an experienced Property Accountant (MDA) to join their finance team.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong experience in commercial and retail property accounting, MDA Property Manager, and property portfolio financial management.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Manage full property accounting functions across a commercial and retail portfolio
Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports
Oversee tenant billing, rental income, and recoveries
Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations
Ensure accurate lease capturing and financial data integrity on MDA Property Manager
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Handle credit control, arrears management, and tenant reconciliations
Prepare for and assist with audits, statutory reporting, and compliance
Monitor operating expenses, CAPEX, and cost allocations
Liaise with property managers, leasing teams, and external stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

Relevant qualification in Accounting / Finance (BCom or equivalent)
3–5+ years’ experience in property accounting (commercial/retail essential)
Strong working knowledge of MDA Property Manager (non-negotiable)
Experience with property portfolios, tenant billing, and lease administration
Advanced Excel skills and strong financial reporting ability

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of property finance, lease agreements, and recoveries
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
