POSITION INFO:
Our client, a well-established and reputable property group, is seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join their finance team. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong individual with hands-on experience in property accounting and a solid understanding of MDA systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of a property portfolio, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and effective financial control. You will work closely with property managers and other stakeholders to deliver timely and insightful financial information.
This role offers exposure to a diverse property portfolio and a collaborative working environment where attention to detail, strong systems experience, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines are key.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full accounting function for a portfolio of properties.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Oversee month-end processes and ensure timely reporting.
Prepare and review budgets and forecasts for properties.
Manage tenant billing, recoveries, and reconciliations.
Ensure accurate processing and reconciliation of accounts within MDA.
Assist with annual financial statements and audit processes.
Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Liaise with property managers and other key stakeholders.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Education:
Relevant finance qualification (BCom Accounting or equivalent preferred)
Experience:
Proven experience as a Property Accountant.
Hands-on experience with MDA (non-negotiable).
Strong experience within the property industry.
Exposure to managing multiple properties or portfolios.
Skills:
Strong technical accounting knowledge.
Advanced Excel and MDA system proficiency.
Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
