Property Accountant - Port Elizabeth

SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established organisation operating within a group company structure, is seeking to employ an experienced Property Accountant to join their team based in Port Elizabeth. 

POSITION INFO:
Requirements Qualifications Completed accounting qualification (degree or diploma), with full-function experience to trial balance and beyond. SAIPA or CIMA registration. Involvement in a previous system migration or implementation. Holding company or treasury exposure. Demonstrated interest in automation and removing manual work. Property sector accounting - rental, commercial letting or managing agent. Hands-on preparation and submission of VAT, provisional and annual company tax returns - not merely preparing schedules for someone else to file. Intercompany experience and loan account reconciliation. Audit file preparation and direct dealings with external auditors through to sign-off. Zoho experience (the system being implemented). Sage Pastel Partner experience - the historical records sit there and must be interrogated during and after migration. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Port Elizabeth. This is an office-based role. Responsibilities (but not limited to): Take full ownership of the finance function for the group's property and holding companies. Manage and allocate bank and loan accounts accurately and timeously. Perform monthly loan interest calculations and ensure accurate accounting records. Administer and maintain property-related contracts and financial agreements. Prepare monthly management and financial reports for management review. Manage the full SARS compliance calendar, including relevant tax submissions and deadlines. Prepare and maintain audit files and supporting documentation through to audit sign-off. Liaise with auditors and provide the necessary schedules, reconciliations and supporting information. Identify opportunities to improve and automate existing accounting and financial processes. Ensure the financial records of all assigned entities are accurate, complete and up to date. Provide end-to-end accounting support and financial oversight across the group's property and holding companies. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
