Minimum Requirements Relevant Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Dairy Technology, or related field Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role within a food manufacturing environment Proven experience in dairy processing environments involving Whey processing, butter manufacturing, blending, and value-added dairy products Working knowledge of FSSC22000, HACCP, GMP, and food safety management systems Understanding of membrane technologies and their application within food or dairy processing environments Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, root cause analysis, and preventative quality systems Exposure to mixing and formulation of value-added dairy products will be advantageous Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Key Responsibilities Ensure adherence to the Quality and Food Safety Management System, group policies and procedures, and ensure the continuous improvement thereof Verify that process capability complies with the product specification and process parameters Develop, implement, and manage preventative quality assurance systems aligned with FSSC22000, GMP, HACCP, and internal quality standards Ensure compliance with raw material, in-process, packaging, and finished product specifications across whey, butter, blend, and value-added dairy operations Drive proactive quality risk assessments and preventative controls to minimise product defects, food safety incidents, and process variability Ensure all specifications, customer, legal, and regulatory changes are effectively communicated and implemented within the manufacturing environment Partner with production and technical teams to improve process capability, product consistency, sanitation effectiveness, and manufacturing efficiencies Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, rework, customer complaints, and substandard product through root cause analysis and corrective\/preventative actions Monitor and verify compliance with sanitation and hygiene standards within whey, butter, and blend plants through routine GMP inspections and hygiene audits Ensure process audits and verification activities are conducted according to schedule to identify deviations and drive sustainable corrective actions Support process optimisation and quality improvements relating to membrane technologies, mixing systems, butter processing, and value-added dairy applications Collaborate closely with laboratory teams to validate analytical results, investigate trends, and strengthen preventative quality controls Ensure effective management and closure of non-conformances relating to final product quality, CCP deviations, consumer complaints, food safety incidents, and process failures Analyse quality and microbiological data to identify emerging risks and implement preventative measures before product impact occurs Ensure all trial runs, commissioning activities, and product development validations are fully documented, monitored, and sampled according to quality requirements Ensure adherence to all company quality policies, standards, procedures, and food safety requirements
