Our client is a well-established company within the transport industry, specializing in providing reliable and efficient vehicle hire services. They are looking for an experienced and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join their team and help ensure the smooth operation of the fleet.

POSITION INFO:
Duties:

• Perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services on diesel engines and related components
• Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and machinery to ensure proper operation
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and provide solutions for repair
• Replace faulty components, such as fuel pumps, filters, and turbochargers
• Ensure all repairs comply with safety and regulatory standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Keep accurate records of maintenance work and parts used
• Respond to breakdowns and provide on-site repairs when necessary
• Work effectively with the team to ensure timely vehicle repairs and minimize downtime

• Certification in Diesel Mechanics or related fields
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
• Prior experience in a transport or logistics environment
• Minimum 3-5 years’ proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems in Automotive industry
• Experience in repairing and maintaining large commercial vehicles, including trucks and trailers
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
• A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record
• Ability to work overtime and be on standby as required
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
• Automotive Industry experience ESSENTIAL!!
