Quality Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client an international player in Africa within the Packaging Industry is seeking a Quality Manager to be based in Vanderbijl Park.

POSITION INFO:

To develop and implement the quality and food safety strategy. Implementation through plans, methods and frameworks supporting operational excellence.

Client Details

Our client is an International player in the plastics, metals and packaging industry on the African continent. They have been listed on the Johannesburg stock exchange for nearly 50-years. They are looking for Quality Manager that comes from a strong production / FMCG background. The site is based in Vanderbijl park and will require the person having ease of access to the area.

Description

Key Responsibilities

• Sustaining current market share and creating an opportunity for future growth by ensuring that DivFood Vanderbijlpark conforms to national and international quality and food safety management system requirements;
• Ensuring that the implementation costs of strategic, quality and food safety related projects are minimized; e.g HACCP Programme; FSSC 22000:2013; ISO/TS 22002-4:2013.
• Ensure that projects in place comply with FSMS and FSSC 22000 regulatory standard requirements.
• Improving the process efficiencies by implementing, maintaining a continuously improving process control, tracking and reporting systems;
• Driving operational excellence principles :- QMS, FSMS , Safety, Health, Environment & Housekeeping and 20 Keys;
• Improving internal and external customer satisfaction by providing effective and efficient quality and food safety support services;
• Facilitating the process of identifying critical control points and drawing up quality control plans with regard to safety hazards related to current and new products/processes in Vanderbijlpark

• Implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 management system;
• Implementation of Food Safety Management system, ISO 22000:2005
• FSSC 22000:2013 ; ISO/TS 22002-1; ISO-TS 22002-4 standards;
• Sound knowledge of and practical experience in a manufacturing and HACCP environment would be an added advantage and international standards BRC, GFSI, and other relevant standards
• Implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 management system;
• Implementation of Food Safety Management system, ISO 22000:2005
• FSSC 22000:2013 ; ISO/TS 22002-1; ISO-TS 22002-4 standards;
• Proven experience in dealing with trade unions and working in a highly unionised environment.
• Computer literacy as an advanced user

• Proven competence in statistical process control techniques and
• analysis;
• Proven competence in auditing, quality cost, SANS 19011:2012 ( Auditing Management systems standard)
• Investigative, analytical and reporting skills.
• High level of presentation and written communication skills;
• High energy levels and emotional intelligence;
• Previous experience as a quality manager / managing teams

Profile

Qualifications

A relevant University Degree or certification in:

• Industrial Engineering / Quality Engineering
• Statistical Process Control or Operational Research
• project management
• information management, quality and economy.
