Quality Manager

SUMMARY:
The Quality Manager shall follow the Guidance and direct other specialized organizational functions understand and fulfill their obligations to meet quality objectives, systemic responsibilities, and customer requirement policy

POSITION INFO:

• Identify, evaluate, and ensure meaningful compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Efforts to ensure company compliance shall be inherently established within the company’s Quality System.
• Work towards the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
• Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance
•  Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies
•  Respond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures
•  · Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture
• Act as a point of contact for warranty issues
•  Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts
•  Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits
•  Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate
•  Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures

• Remain aware of new or updated regulations, laws, standards and other official enactments that may apply to the company.
• Provide detailed analysis, official recommendations, and gap analyses for new or revised enactments
• Assume responsibility for completion of an annual share of Internal Quality Audits.
• Solve problems using G8D, FRP,DMAIC, 5why
• Participate in 3rd party audit and inspection activities (ISO, FDA, etc.)
• Coordinate the creation, execution, and validation of all change orders.
• Initiate and maintain pertinent metrics, trending, and statistical analysis.
• Ensure that reasonable risk management controls are in place
• Undertake Kaizen activities for continuous improvements.
• Knowledge of SPC, MSA
• Understand 3D measurements and how to interpret the report
• Have an understanding of the automotive quality requirements (ISO/TS1649,PPAP)
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the Quality strategy
• Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on engineering design and development. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost
• Perform other ad0hoc duties as when required

Supervision

Quality Manager works under the supervision of the General Manager Quality & Engineering.

Job Requirements

• Matric or equivalent
• B Tech Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent (Degree)
• Proficient in computer literacy (Ms Office)
• Minimum 10 years experience in Automotive Quality Environment
• Knowledge G8D’s, PPAP, ISO/TS
• Certified Internal auditor
• Knowledge of 3D measurements and report interpretation
• Sound knowledge of SPC, DMAIC, MSA, FMEA, EMS ISO 14001, QS 9000, VDA 6.1, 6.3, 6.5
• Knowledge of FORD Q1
• Knowledge of manufacturing based quality control methods, tools and techniques
• Good communication and team skills
• Strong Data Analysis and Reporting skills
• Ability to lead and facilitate cross functional teams
• Self motivated and a self starter
• Strong interpersonal and customer interface skills
• Quality Driven
