Quantitative Business Analyst

We are looking for a Quantitative Business Analyst to join our financial services client based in Johannesburg on a 12-month contract.

POSITION INFO:
What you will be doing: Design, specify, configure, test, and support solutions that enable business capabilities and enhance client-centric outcomes Devise pricing and risk management solutions, including related IT processes, maintenance, testing, and production support Construct, analyse, and validate financial models, including product pricing, curve stripping, and scenario analysis Perform process design, analysis, testing, and troubleshooting within pricing and risk management environments Analyse system capabilities and assess suitability for pricing and risk-related business requirements Analyse complex data and business situations to identify problems, develop solutions, and provide logical recommendations Analyse, design, and implement purchased and in-house software applications Test and validate implemented logic, calculations, and business processes Investigate and resolve recurring production incidents in collaboration with multiple stakeholders Identify opportunities to improve business processes, systems, and operational efficiencies Develop recommendations for process improvements and system enhancements Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to understand requirements and drive solution delivery Review business demand items and assess impacts on systems, processes, and technology environments Partner with process owners to develop roadmaps for future system and process enhancements Identify potential service gaps and assess the impact of new technologies or process changes Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications Coordinate integration activities across internal and external service providers Monitor business benefits against approved business cases and track value realisation What we are looking for: Honours Degree in Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field 5+ years' experience as a Quantitative Business Analyst, Quantitative Analyst, Risk Analyst, or Financial Markets Business Analyst Strong understanding of pricing, valuation, risk management, and financial modelling concepts Experience constructing and analysing pricing models, risk models, curve stripping, and scenario analysis Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical specifications Strong business analysis and process analysis capabilities Experience working with financial systems, risk platforms, or pricing applications Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills Experience testing, validating, and supporting business and technology solutions Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to work effectively across business, quantitative, and technology teams Advantageous: CFA, FRM, CQF, or related financial markets qualification Experience within Capital Markets, Global Markets, Treasury, Risk, or Trading environments Knowledge of derivatives, fixed income, foreign exchange, or structured products Experience with SQL, Python, R, MATLAB, or similar analytical tools Experience working within Agile delivery environments Exposure to production support, incident management, and system integration Please note if you do not hear from us within 3 weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.
