JOB SUMMARY:
Are you a qualified QS who is immediately available, Maths completed in Matric, with minimum five years experience QS experience in the STEEL SECTOR?

Our Client based in Epping will require you to work closely with the Technical Director and to use your excellent understanding of structural engineering processes within a production environment.

We require your ability to understand, interpret, analyze, plan and follow through on all technical aspects of specific and related projects including but not limited to monthly valuations, measures, final accounts and to assist in tendering/estimating department.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

REQUIREMENTS

Senior Certificate with Mathematics AND B Tech (QS) or B Sc(QS) Certificate/Diploma in Quantity Surveying with 5 years working experience with JBCC, FIDI, and NEC contract knowledge.
Excellent understanding of structural engineering processes within a production environment
Understand, interpret, analyze, plan and follow through on all technical aspects of specific and related projects including but not limited to monthly valuations, measures, final accounts and to assist in tendering/estimating department.
Self Motivated, Meticulous, and Deadline driven & able to manage projects and subordinates.
Willingness to get hands dirty and get involved in the day to day activities.
Display a sense of urgency and willingness to work overtime when required
Code EB (08) Drivers License non negotiable.

DUTIES

Draw up agreement for final accounts with main contractors
Liaise with contractors QS on commercial matters and agreement of contract values
Ensure all activities are aligned with contractual requirements
Communicate changes to all stakeholders as per contract agreement
Liaise with site and workshop management on progress, delays etc.
Manage and maintain guarantee facility and advise financial directive
Inform finance of guarantee expiry dates
Complete and collate all payment guarantee documentation
Arrange all supplier documentation for new sub-contractors
Submit monthly valuations
Re-measure of contract work
Record and price all extra work and contract variations
Improve contract allowables and manage costs
Expedite payments due and discounts granted
Monitor overall contract performance via the Contract Status Report
Ensure repeat claims are issued monthly until final payment is received
Ensure all payment certificates are received, drawn up and sent to the client
Evaluate claims as per project contract
Draw up cash projections for all completed and current projects
Calculate job card costs , prepare and cost smaller prjects
Reconcile previous projects and analyse variances on Trial Balance
Prepare and cost smaller projects
Complete and file QS documentation per project
Appoint sub-contractors & ensure contract conditions are in place
Draw up cash projections for all completed current projects
Arrange all supplier documentation for new sub-contractors
Prepare all sub-contractors’ documentation & check administration
Attend to any site related queries & manage projects as required

Assist with tenders and estimates and any requirements from time to time

Salary: R dependent on experience
