Employer Description Our client is a a mining house. Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for major platinum mining project currently in the execution phase in Sub-Saharan Africa. This role is responsible for providing mechanical engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle, supporting engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities to ensure successful project delivery. The position will be primarily based in Johannesburg, with travel to the Project site in Sub-Saharan Africa as required to support engineering, construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities. During plant commissioning, this role will be required to be on site to lead and oversee commissioning (C1-C5) activities within their areas of responsibility and provide technical leadership to site teams. Travel requirements will vary depending on project phases and operational requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) or eligibility to obtain registration will be highly advantageous. Valid passport and ability to travel internationally. Skills Minimum 12-15 years of mechanical engineering experience. Extensive experience within mining, minerals processing projects. Significant EPCM project delivery experience. Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams. Proven experience on large greenfield and brownfield projects. Extensive construction, commissioning and operational readiness experience. Strong vendor management and contractor management experience. Platinum processing plant experience will be highly advantageous.
