Job Description

Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, You will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating activities as well as ensuring compliance with the relevant rules, regulations and requirements of all project engineering work for capital projects.

• Manage the engineering portion of capital projects including design, procurement, construction work, commissioning and hand-over in order to deliver project objectives.
• Ensure engineering activities are completed within time limits and budget constraints.
• Maintain awareness of technical developments in the engineering fields.
• Provide safe and secure working environment by communicating and enforcing sound safety, environmental, quality and security practises.
• Effectively manage company resources within the area of responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications in order to ensure quality installations.
• Assist in project planning and cost budgeting to facilitate project approval.
• Effectively manage and co-ordinate contractor activities to meet project objectives.
• Ensure effective communication with internal customers to facilitate project objectives.

Qualifications

• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) compulsory
• BEng/BSc/BTech/ND Mechanical/Electrical Engineering essential

Skills

• Minimum 8 - 10 years experience in mechanical/electrical engineering fields, including 4 - 5 years'' since obtaining OHSAct certification
• Performed work at least once in a permanent (not acting) management position (minimum foreman level) which requires management of people.
• Legal appointments: Appointed at least once in a legal authority position (either OHSAct Section 16(2) or OHSAct General Machinery Regulations 2(7)a). (Preferred (not mandatory)
• Hands-on exposure to project management and/or construction work environment (Preferred)
