REGIONAL SALES MANAGER - NORTHERN SUBURBS CPT

SUMMARY:
A vacancy exists n the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town for an individual with a strong sales and technical background in the mechanical engineering industry. The Regional Sales Manager will report directly to the Sales Manager. The sales team’s main focus is to sell the company’s products and services to new and existing customers. POSITION INFO:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Secure orders by professional response to enquiries, submission of tenders and negotiation of contracts.
• Select equipment to meet customers’ requirements. The products are largely pre-engineered; however, the sales engineer will be responsible for selection of equipment and configuring the entire plant.
• Review customer’s commercial and technical documentation and respond with suitably qualified and contractually sound tenders.
• Prepare project estimates including dealing with suppliers, sub-contractors and internal departments.
• Maintain status awareness of all potential projects, solicit new enquiries, and keep abreast of industry developments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Additional sales or project management qualifications will be advantageous.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering environment.
• Minimum 2 years’ sales or project management experience with large capital equipment.
• A basic knowledge of firetube boilers will be advantageous. Detailed product training will be provided.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required.
