JOB SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established food manufacturing company in Kempton Park, has a position for a Materials Planner.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client, a well-established food manufacturing company in Kempton Park, has a position for a Materials Planner to work with a complex system and stakeholders, generating raw materials forecasts and managing. You MUST have raw materials planning experience in the food/chemicals industry. You MUST be fully SAP literate and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience using the system in a food/beverage/chemical planning environment.

Key Result Areas / Main Duties:

Customer order scheduling and tracking.

Allocation of raw-materials and finished goods to customer.

Identification & information about potential make-to-forecast products.

Production/Purchasing order scheduling and order tracking.

Planning of Production (rough planning).

Calculation of ideal batch size -> lead to update of stock relevant master data.

Plausibility check of MRP result – initiate sourcing of (raw) material.

Identification of potential Make-to-forecast products, maintain material classification.

Planning of multiple production steps (for example concentrate planning, etc.).

Stock management (regular review of slow movers, dead-stocks and blocked materials) and development of preventative measures.

Co-ordination with related functions (OM, Production, QM).

Reporting on monthly basis.

Requirements:

Qualifications: SAPICS Diploma or Supply Chain Management Diploma/Degree

Experience/knowledge:

A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a materials planning environment in food/chemical manufacturing

SAP R/3 competent

MRP experience

Stock Management

Planning/ scheduling experience

Special skills/competencies:

This position requires an individual who is highly analytical but has the ability to easily engage with stakeholders, and the ability to interrogate historical data to establish trends.

Ability to work with a complex system, generated forecasts and understand the implications on the business is essential.

Ability to work accurately and logically with detailed numerical systems.

Advanced computer skills

Firm in decision making.

Self-motivated and disciplined

Team player

Ability to work under extreme pressure.

Carry assigned duties with less supervision

Honesty in work approach

Salary is R550 000 CTC per annum negotiable on experience, plus great benefits and incentive bonuses.
