Regional Category Manager (Namibia)

Our client, a leading national retail group, is seeking an experienced Regional Category Manager to provide strategic leadership across the Namibian region. This pivotal role is responsible for driving category performance, building strong supplier partnerships, securing competitive trade agreements, and delivering sustainable category growth and profitability.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements Matric (essential). Degree or Diploma in Marketing or a related field. Minimum 10 years' experience in a buying\/procurement role. Minimum 5 to 10 years' buying experience within a Hardware Retail environment. 5 years' experience in store retail management. Key Competencies: Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent planning and organisational ability. Effective presentation skills. Computer literacy. Proven leadership and team management capability. Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Regional Operations Director , you will: Drive national sales growth and achieve GP% budget targets. Review and manage product ranging and ordering for new stores. Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships across the region. Conduct supplier factory visits to assess service delivery capabilities. Improve retailer loyalty in partnership with regional teams. Develop category strategies aligned with merchandise and group objectives. Manage regional supplier trade agreements and approvals. Oversee supply chain performance and supplier engagement. Analyse category performance and implement growth initiatives. Manage national promotions, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns. Negotiate and achieve gross profit and drop shipment targets. Lead the successful launch of house-brand products in stores. Provide category leadership and expert advice to retailers. Identify and drive high-impact promotional opportunities and \"killer deals\".
