Regional Product & Mining Solutions Manager Johannesburg \/ Kempton Park, Gauteng Position Reference: MID659 A global leader within the construction, earthmoving, and mining equipment industry is seeking to appoint a highly experienced and commercially driven Senior Product Applications & Business Development Manager to join their African operations team based in Johannesburg. This strategic senior-level role will focus extensively on open-pit mining applications across the African region, driving product strategy, market development, technical application support, and customer solution optimisation within demanding mining environments. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise in mining and heavy equipment applications, combined with the commercial ability to identify market opportunities, support key accounts, and enhance product competitiveness across the region. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in: Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Mining Engineering Construction Management Business Management Or related technical qualification Minimum 8–10 years’ experience within: Mining equipment Earthmoving equipment Construction machinery Heavy industrial equipment sectors Proven experience in senior-level roles involving: Product Management Product Development Product Applications Technical Sales Business Development Equipment Solutions Engineering Strong knowledge and understanding of: Open-pit mining operations Gold mining applications Infrastructure and construction projects Heavy equipment operational environments African mining and construction markets Experience with: Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis Equipment performance optimisation Product lifecycle management Market trend analysis and competitive positioning Strong commercial, analytical, and strategic planning abilities Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Africa, including frequent mine site visits (Estimated travel requirement: 2–3 months annually) Key Responsibilities: Lead product application strategy and market development initiatives across the African region Conduct detailed market research and working condition analysis within mining and construction sectors Evaluate customer operational requirements and recommend fit-for-purpose equipment solutions Drive product positioning, competitiveness, and portfolio development aligned with regional market demands Provide high-level technical and commercial support to customers, distributors, and internal sales teams Conduct on-site mine inspections and equipment performance assessments within open-pit mining operations Develop and present technical proposals, solution recommendations, and product performance reports Perform TCO calculations, productivity analysis, and cost-benefit evaluations for customers Support key account development and strategic customer relationship management Collaborate with engineering, sales, aftermarket, and operational teams to enhance product performance and market penetration Monitor industry developments, competitor activity, and emerging market trends across Africa Deliver product and application training to internal teams and customers where required Package: Highly competitive salary package of up to R100,000 per month dependent on experience and qualifications Opportunity to join a globally recognised industry leader with extensive African operations Exposure to large-scale mining and infrastructure projects across the continent To Apply: Please submit a detailed CV to: Please use Reference: MID651 in the subject line of your application.
