SUMMARY:
A leading tertiary institution is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join their team as a Regional Sales Development Manager

POSITION INFO:

Duties & Responsibilities

Management of the Total marketing Concept of the Region

  • Evaluates previous years sales performance and sets annual targets for the upcoming cycle.
  • Designs and implements annual sales plans and campaigns across campuses in region.
  • Manages sales plans and sales campaigns to take advantage of market opportunities in the region.
  • Oversees that formal sales targets are set and that these are translated into individual targets.
  • Monitors Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) management of leads and reallocate if required.
  • Manages and oversees the quality of all formal sales processes.
  • Oversees, establishes and maintains strategic relationships with key contacts within schools in the region.
  • Engages in planning with Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) with regards to all aspects of the sales cycle and if necessary, with the sales team.
  • Monitors performance of Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) to ensure achievement thereof on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitors and ensures the effective running of the total student enrolment portfolio in the region/s.
  • Monitors and tracks the profitability of programmes at they various campuses in the region/s.
  • Sets standards and processes to ensure optimal service delivery of the region.
  • Along with the Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) ensures that the admission policy is implemented and actioned on campuses in your region.
  • Supports Marketing Manager in planning and implementation of advertising and sales within the region.
  • Conducts staff meetings regularly with the Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) to discuss operational performance and business issues.
  • National Training and Development Full Time and Part Time across all regions
  • Reviews and updates Full Time and Part Time sales training programmes and portfolio of evidence (POE) for implementation nationally.
  • Recruitment of campus sales staff (Full Time Junior Student Advisor''s, Student Advisor''s, Senior Student Advisor''s, Head: Student Recruitment, Marketing Assistant''s and Call Centre Operators) and (Part Time Consultants and Head: Student Recruitment) as and when required.
  • Manages and rolls out training of new and current Full Time and Part Time sales staff.
  • Moderates sales training and signs off level of competence of newly appointed Full Time Student Advisors and Part Time Consultants.
  • Periodically does quality checks on all Full Time and Part Time sales staff in live working environment and identifies training gaps.
  • Reports on training gaps and identifies required training for both Full Time and Part Time Divisions.
  • Source additional resources to support training as required.
  • Formalise a staff recruitment model that fosters tenure within sales department, including succession planning to Senior Student Advisor and Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) levels.

 

Management and Implementation of Sales Tracking process Nationally

  • Sets, communicates and manages sign off of acknowledgement of sales standards required nationally.
  • Trains Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) on the management of performance improvement process.
  • Manage and update the formal Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) documentation to be implemented.
  • Review all formal Sales Tracking Performance Improvement Plan ( PIP) documentation for Student Advisor''s/Senior Student Advisor''s sent by Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) post their meetings, adjust when and where necessary before final versions are sent to and accepted by HR.
  • Reviews targets nationally and instructs commencement of PIP process.
  • Manages final exit process in partnership with Human Resources (HR) in the event of non-performance.
  • Compiles national sales performance report, identifying trends, potential gaps and suggests remedial actions.

 

Managing Stakeholder Relationships

  • Strategically manages relations with all stakeholders and high schools within the region.
  • Manages relationships in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensures and enables clear and open communication between the stakeholders and the brand.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders when inputs is required particular within marketing portfolios, such as advertising, promotions and public relations.
  • Ensures Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) and campus team are conducting regular meetings with stakeholders.

 

Reporting

  • Monitors and reviews the Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) production of reports in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Develops comprehensive reports on sales progress as and when required.
  • Maintains and manages acceptable levels of data integrity across all reporting platforms.
  • Quality-checks the regions report to ensure accuracy, relevancy and completeness and apply changes where necessary.
  • Reviews weekly and monthly campus reports and makes comments and recommendations to Sales Manager.
  • Oversees submission of Full Time reports to the Sales Manager.

 

Human Capital and Campus Management

  • Ensures Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) implements incentives and initiatives in the team to keep them motivated and driven.
  • Monitors the staff''s relationships with their clients to ensure they are strong/improved upon.
  • Intervenes where problems with specific clients exist or lost opportunities arise.
  • Oversees the training of the teams on sales methodology and product knowledge.
  • Supports the recruitment of Sales staff in the region as well as training and development of sales staff across region.
  • Provides support / guidance to the Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) and deals with general problems on an ongoing basis and provides advice / support / information.
  • Conducts Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) performance reviews.
  • Offers a management presence when on campus.
  • Assists Head: Student Relations (Full Time) with ad hoc management matters.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Advanced Diploma / Bachelors Degree (NQF level 7) in Business / Marketing / Public Relations / Communication field.
  • Relevant Post Graduate Qualification - Advantageous.

 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum Work Experience Required:
  • Minimum of 4 years Sales and Marketing Management Experience.
