A leading provider of flexible solutions for bulk solid material handling is looking for a highly qualified individual to join its Sales Team as a Regional Sales Engineer . The ideal candidate will be based in Gauteng , with responsibilities that include travel to KwaZulu-Natal and occasionally other African countries . We are looking for someone enthusiastic, detail-oriented and able to work effectively within a team. Key requirements include a positive outlook, excellent time management and organisational abilities, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing sales within an established territory by meeting with potential clients, existing customers and manufacturers' representatives. Responsibilities will include negotiating technical equipment sales, building strong customer relationships and maintaining clear communication with Sales, Applications Engineering and Marketing teams. Position Overview Responsibilities include regular sales visits to potential and existing customers, engineering specification reviews, system design, responding directly to customer enquiries, supporting office-based sales personnel and performing various other tasks related to the technical sales of process equipment across multiple industries. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as good telephone etiquette, are essential. Travel will be required. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Customer Management Work with the global business development team to identify potential new customers. Identify and develop qualified sales opportunities through outbound prospecting, including phone, email, LinkedIn and other business development channels. Follow up on leads and prospect information provided. Research new manufacturing facilities, plant expansions, industry developments and growth opportunities within assigned markets. Maintain accurate customer, prospect and opportunity records within the CRM system. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse customer base within the materials handling industry. Customer Enquiries & Technical Sales Evaluate customers' material handling projects. Design material handling systems to meet customer requirements. Determine appropriate pricing and prepare system quotations. Follow up and negotiate with customers to secure orders. Sales Support Review quotations generated by office-based sales personnel. Provide technical sales support as required. Project Management Support Assist in obtaining all relevant information required for engineering, production and controls teams to design and manufacture material handling systems. Act as liaison between customers and internal teams when questions arise during production. Monitor and track leads and quotations within the CRM system. Requirements Strong verbal, telephonic and written communication skills. Proven capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships and contribute positively within a team environment. Confidence in working with customers to determine appropriate solutions in a sales-support capacity. Sound decision-making and judgement, with the confidence to make recommendations in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal to moderate supervision while adhering to deadlines and commitments. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the capacity to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. High level of accuracy when compiling, reviewing and reconciling data for completeness and compliance. Strong report-writing skills, with the capacity to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence and other written materials. Technical aptitude and understanding of drawings, specifications, codes, standards and regulatory requirements. Willingness to learn, develop and grow within the company. Proficiency in standard computer applications, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Minimum Qualifications Technical background and aptitude. National Senior Certificate. A diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar technical discipline would be advantageous, but is not a prerequisite .
