Resident Engineer

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a skilled Resident Engineer to provide technical oversight and ensure quality, compliance, and successful delivery of construction projects. The role will involve working closely with contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to address technical matters and maintain high construction standards.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Provide engineering and technical support throughout the construction phase Review method statements, quality control plans, and technical documentation Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and standards Manage and resolve site RFIs, technical queries, and quality-related matters Liaise with contractors, consultants, and engineering teams to resolve design and construction issues Identify potential quality risks and implement appropriate corrective actions Maintain effective quality and compliance processes across the project Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years' relevant engineering experience Strong construction site and quality assurance experience Sound knowledge of QMS, quality control procedures, and method statements Knowledge of construction standards and regulations, including SANS, NHBRC, GCC, and JBCC Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities Proficiency in Autodesk software Proven ability to work effectively with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams Qualification: BTech in Civil or Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification ECSA eligibility or pre-registration would be advantageous Proven on-site construction experience is essential Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered Connect with us on and Register your CV to create a profile and to view all our Engineering recruitment vacancies.
