JOB SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for an experienced RETAIL Applications Support Consultant to join their team of IT professionals. You will provide 2nd level IT application support to business at a senior technical level, as well as assist with deploying software to the various release environments as well as troubleshooting environment specific problems. Assisting with change management procedures and with improving release and operations procedures.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Main Functions:

Provide 2nd level IT application support to business at a senior technical level
Assist with deploying software to the various release environments
Troubleshooting environment specific problems.
Assisting with change management procedures and with improving release and operations procedures.

Environment:

Office based, but option of hybrid.
Work in Internal IT Support Team supporting business retail/warehousing applications.
La Lucia, Durban.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities include:

Provide 2nd line application technical support on all Retail and Warehouse applications on SQL databases.
Troubleshooting and resolving incidents.
Ensure that software releases deployed into the production environment follow documented IT procedures.
Work with support teams to improve software deployment techniques and procedures.
Escalate and manage incidents with software vendors if required.
Updating internal knowledge base and documentation.
Work with business departments to continuously drive application architecture and configuration improvement.
Documenting of business requirements and liaising with business and software vendors.
After hours standby and support may be required from time to time.

Minimum Requirements

5 years support experience in Retail, Warehousing, Back-Office Systems / ERP
Advance SQL knowledge and experience.
Warehousing Management System experience.

Interested:

Self-managed.
Excellent organising skills with the ability to work within pressurised environment.
