SAP ABAP Technical Consultant – Incident Management (Contract)

SUMMARY:
Gijima Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client for a SAP ABAP Technical consultant for 12 month contract.

The SAP ABAP Technical Consultant will support the resolution of technical incidents, focusing on debugging and fixing issues in custom developments. This role is strictly limited to production support and incident handling, without involvement in design or development of new functionality.

POSITION INFO:
Required Skills and Experience:

• 2–4 years of experience in ABAP development and technical support.
• Strong debugging skills and understanding of core SAP tables and data structures.
• Experience with classical and OO ABAP, smart forms, ALV reports, and enhancements.
• Familiarity with performance tuning and SAP transport management.
• Ability to work under pressure and resolve issues within SLA timelines

• Analyze and resolve technical incidents related to custom reports, interfaces,enhancements, and forms.
• Debug ABAP code to identify root cause and propose efficient technical fixes.
• Work closely with functional teams (MM, SD) to understand business impact and perform efficient debugging.
• Manage and document code corrections using transport requests following the defined incident governance process.
• Ensure incident resolutions do not introduce regressions or impact existing functionality
• Maintain version control and detailed documentation of all technical fixes.

• Proactive, accountable, and customer-service-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based incident management processes.
• Ability to manage priorities and multitask in a high-volume support environment.
