JOB SUMMARY:
Sundays River Valley Area – Eastern Cape: Our client is looking for a Senior Project Manager – Citrus Procurement, Technical Advice & Processing to join the team.
Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.

The successful candidate should reside in or around the Sundays River Valley area.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Agricultural qualification with focus on citrus
Industrial Engineering or a Technical qualification, but must have worked in the citrus industry managing a processing plant or farming citrus
Exposure to basic business and financial management
Must understand the entire citrus production process (must include knowledge on lemons)
It will be preferential if this individual has farmed citrus, specifically lemons
Must have a sound knowledge of citrus quality standards, pest control and spray programmes
It will be preferential if the individual has had exposure to organic farming & understand the principles thereof
Must have previous experience of buying / procuring fruit from 3rd party farmers or have been in a position providing a service to 3rd party farmers in the citrus industry
It will be preferential if this individual has knowledge of citrus processing for juice and oil

SKILLS REQUIRED

Must be able to speak English and Afrikaans
Good communicator, have the ability to present a case & convince people
Able to build and maintain sound relationships with people at all levels
Ability to work independently
Ability to work with 3rdparty farmers to guide them with regards to the technical aspects of farming citrus – fulfil a consultancy role
Must be open to learn new skills & ways of working
Must be able to understand financial / business principles and explain them to producer
