SHEQ Officer, Stutterheim

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a SHEQ Officer for a permanent vacancy based in Stutterheim, Eastern Cape.

POSITION INFO:
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• SAMTRAC / NEBOSH / NOSA / Diploma or certificate in Safety Management
• Environmental or Quality training will be an advantage
• 3+ years related experience in systems, compliance and auditing in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act. Exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
• Proficient in MS Office & strong administrative skills
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport / Good communication / sound knowledge of SHE requirements

• Assist with the implementation and monitoring of OHS Act and related regulations
• Conduct workplace inspections and report hazards and non‑conformances
• Assist in incident, accident and near‑miss investigations and corrective actions
• Support risk assessments, HIRA, and safe work procedures
• Coordinate and monitor PPE compliance
• Assist with contractor safety management and inductions
• Participate in Safety Committee meetings

• Support implementation of environmental management plans
• Monitor waste management, housekeeping, and environmental controls
• Assist with compliance to environmental permits and procedures
• Report environmental incidents and assist with corrective actions

• Assist with implementation and monitoring of quality procedures and work instructions
• Support internal audits and corrective action tracking
• Assist in maintaining document control and record keeping

• Maintain SHEQ records, registers, and files
• Assist with legal compliance audits
• Support ISO systems (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 – where applicable)
• Assist with training coordination and toolbox talks
• Compile basic SHEQ reports and statistics
