SUMMARY:

Looking for a Safety Officer with 4-6 years of experience in health and safety, specifically overseeing scaffolding operations in high-risk sectors. Must have strong technical knowledge and expertise in working at heights and fall protection systems.

Reporting to: Operations

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and project-specific requirements
Inspect scaffolding structures, facilitate risk assessments, and monitor contractor performance
Lead proactive health and safety initiatives related to work at height
Coordinate scaffolding teams, facilitate safety briefings, and deliver scaffold user awareness training
Conduct incident investigations, prepare reports with root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Maintain safety files and documentation, ensuring compliance and audit readiness

Qualification and Experience:

Matric / Grade 12 required
Minimum 3-5 years in health and safety, preferably overseeing scaffolding operations in high-risk sectors
Strong understanding of working at heights and fall protection systems
Experience with different types of scaffolding and load capacity checks
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and ISO 45001 implementation
