POSITION INFO:
A well-established electrical contractor is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Safety Officer to join their team and oversee health and safety compliance across electrical construction projects in Cape Town. REQUIREMENTS SACPCMP registration as a Safety Officer is essential Relevant Health & Safety qualification Minimum 3-5 years' experience in construction health & safety Experience within the electrical contracting \/ electrical construction environment will be highly advantageous Strong knowledge of the OHS Act, Construction Regulations and related legislation Experience conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments Ability to compile and maintain Health & Safety files Incident investigation and reporting experience Strong understanding of HIRA, Method Statements and Safe Work Procedures Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and engage confidently with site teams, management and clients Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Implement and monitor the company's Health & Safety policies and procedures Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits Ensure compliance with statutory and client-specific safety requirements Maintain comprehensive Health & Safety files Conduct risk assessments and monitor corrective actions Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings Investigate incidents and recommend preventative measures Monitor subcontractor and employee compliance Provide safety guidance to project and site management Ensure all documentation remains current and compliant
