Sales Analyst

SUMMARY:
To ensure the collection, analysis and reporting of sales related data in an ongoing effort to increase overall sales productivity, profitability and provide support to the sales team.
 
Development and tracking of sales metrics to improve decision-making. To provide an analysis service to Butcheries, Supply Chain and Production.

POSITION INFO:
1. QUALIFICATIONS 1.1 Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Finance. 1.2 A degree in Supply Chain or Logistics would be an advantage. 2. EXPERIENCE 2.1 3-6 years' experience in a Sales or Marketing Analyst-related function. 3. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED 3.1 Product analysis, including costing and profitability analysis. 3.2 Data analytics. 3.3 Data modelling. 3.4 Sales and Marketing systems. 3.5 Market research methodologies. 3.6 Competitor analysis. 3.7 Microsoft BI, QlikView, Microsoft applications, and related systems. 3.8 Understanding of meat and retail business models. 3.9 Understanding of pricing strategies. 4. SKILLS REQUIRED 4.1 Analytical Skills 4.1.1 Ability to analyse and interpret large sets of sales data to make informed decisions. 4.2 Data Management 4.2.1 Proficiency in handling large datasets, ensuring accuracy, and creating reports for stakeholders. 4.3 Trend Analysis 4.3.1 Ability to track market trends, sales performance, and customer behaviour to forecast future sales and demand. 4.4 Sales Reporting 4.4.1 Experience in creating and presenting detailed sales reports, dashboards, and insights to senior management. 4.5 Problem-Solving 4.5.1 Aptitude for identifying issues in sales data and developing actionable solutions. 4.6 Attention to Detail 4.6.1 Accuracy in analysing and presenting data. 4.7 Communication Skills 4.7.1 Ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. 4.8 Knowledge of the FMCG Industry 4.8.1 Understanding of the dynamics of the meat sector, market demand cycles, pricing, and competition. 4.9 Customer Insights 4.9.1 Ability to analyse consumer behaviour and sales patterns to help improve product offerings or adjust strategies. 5. JOB ACTIVITIES 5.1 Collection, Analysis & Reporting 5.1.1 Advanced use of statistical analysis tools\/applications. 5.1.2 Provide general sales reporting and analysis to assist in monitoring sales performance through the sales information system. 5.1.3 Provide data and analytical support for internal presentations and business reviews. 5.1.4 Create dashboards, measures, and reports as required\/requested to support analysis and decision-making. 5.1.5 Analyse channel data, product movement, customer and consumer purchase data, consumer behaviour, etc. 5.1.6 Assist with the interpretation of and provision of strategic insights from the various types of data available. 5.1.7 Assist in the identification and development of business opportunities through the analysis and interpretation of customer, market, and consumer data. 5.1.8 Conduct sales forecasting to facilitate accurate production planning. 5.1.9 Attend sales calls\/meetings with the sales team as required. 5.1.10 Monitor and maintain a customer-specific database. 5.1.11 Evaluate the effectiveness of promotional efforts in the market using available data sources. 5.1.12 Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications. 6.
