JOB DESCRIPTION:

An exciting career opportunity is available in our Sales & Marketing department. We are now accepting applications for an experienced Sales Executive (based in Johannesburg).

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, planning, time management, negotiation and selling skills. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment.

The position requires that the candidate have a minimum qualification of Grade 12 or equivalent coupled with an appropriate qualification in hospitality or travel. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3-5 year proven sales track record. The candidate must have a valid driver’s license and own car. Whilst previous experience in the role of Hotel Sales is ideal, sales experience in related industries, such as travel and hospitality will also be considered. Knowledge of hotel property management systems and competency in MS Office suite are essential.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Primary responsibility of meeting and exceeding sales targets and goals for Sales Area revenue budget;
Meeting and exceeding profit margins through driving the Hotel Rooms and Banqueting Revenue by ensuring all opportunities are taken to promote the Fancourt product in order to sell conferences, events and banqueting business;
Responsible for a mixture of domestic and international sales in support of current sales structures;
Developing and implementing growth strategies and sourcing new opportunities within the allocated region to maximize revenues;
Key account management – to maintain existing and develop new clients with business potential for Fancourt;
Attend industry events to network with industry colleagues and keeping informed about trends in the industry;
Producing sales reports;
Responsible for proposals for all enquiries from sales area and converting these enquiries into confirmed bookings.
