Sales Proposal Design Engineer

SUMMARY:
A leading and fast-growing renewable energy company is seeking a technically strong and commercially astute Sales Proposal Design Engineer to join its dynamic team. The organisation delivers innovative and sustainable solar solutions to commercial, industrial, and utility-scale clients.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Design grid-tied and hybrid Solar PV systems for commercial and industrial applications
• Prepare detailed technical proposals aligned with client specifications
• Compile and review tender documentation, ensuring compliance with RFP requirements
• Develop and price Bills of Quantities (BOQs) accurately
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies where required
• Perform system sizing, yield analysis, and equipment selection
• Liaise with suppliers for technical specifications and pricing
• Support the sales team with technical presentations and client engagements
• Ensure proposals meet regulatory and safety standards

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng Electrical Engineering (essential)
• 3–5 years’ experience in Solar PV system design
• Proven experience compiling and submitting tenders and BOQs
• Strong understanding of PV system components, inverters, mounting structures, and protection systems
• Proficiency in PV design software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope or similar)
• Knowledge of SANS regulations and grid compliance requirements
• Strong analytical, costing, and commercial acumen
