Senior Actuarial Consultant

SUMMARY:
A Consulting company is looking for a Senior Actuarial Consultant to join their dynamic and skilled consultancy team. The role is to support the delivery of work designed to improve the actuarial performance for our clients through process improvements, system enhancements and implementation of an adequate control framework.

POSITION INFO:

Managing Delivery of Client Requirements

• Actively contribute to a wide range of actuarial projects, including activities such as financial modelling, spreadsheet and other improvements, reporting production and analysis
• Take ownership of actuarial modelling development tasks e.g. to adapt existing client models with the guidance of the modelling manager. This may range in a variety of modelling platforms but with the majority of the work being within the industry leading platforms
• Develop and/or test spreadsheet models to deliver to the client’s user acceptance testing;
• Manage your deliverables across concurrent projects effectively and support the junior analyst and consultants in delivering theirs.
• Interact with client on your assigned projects
• Create documentation including process-, user- and technical guides;
• Provide helpdesk and onsite support to clients on processes, models and spreadsheets;
• Providing bespoke training to clients.
• Support the development of innovative solutions for clients andthe Group.

Internal Contribution

• Develop profiles through client and industry activities.
• Contribute on strategic initiatives.
• Provide training and coaching to junior analyst and consultants.

Other requirements: 

• Educated to Degree level, mathematical or a quantitative subject, or equivalent
• Nearly qualified

• 3-5 years in similar role within financial service sector.
• Good knowledge of risk based regulatory regimes such as Solvency II, IFRS and GAAP;
• Good knowledge of insurance products and markets
• Experience in actuarial reporting
• Strong data handling and analysis
• Some experience in supporting and/or training analyst, graduates or similar.
