POSITION INFO:

Senior Actuarial Specialist – Reporting & Analytics

Positions in Cape Town, Durban and Sandton

Support the Reporting and Analytics Actuary. The incumbent will be responsible for developing the actuarial analysis and reporting capability and the pricing of large group arrangements. Interact with internal stakeholders at all levels.

• Development and maintenance of tools to analyse actuarial and business data in order to enhance management reporting as well as client reporting
• Support in the management of, and reporting on, international pooling arrangements, including review of operating guide
• Review and analysis of valuation data, processes and results of group risk products’ performance to gain a deeper understanding and insight into business results and emerging trends
• Input into the improvement and development of GAP data and systems
• Automation of models and business processes
• Pricing of (large) group risk arrangements
• Provide technical oversight and support, for group risk products in particular, to finance and servicing areas
• Provide technical input and support to other areas within GAP Actuarial, for example product maintenance, risk management, product development and Africa growth strategy.
• Training and development of junior actuarial students

• Actuarial student with a minimum of 11 credits (exceptional candidates who don’t meet this requirement may be considered)
• At least 4 years actuarial experience
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Good communication skills and have the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
• Highly motivated and energetic self-starter who is good at working with complex tasks under tight deadlines
• Group Assurance pricing experience would be an advantage
• Experience in the Group Risk or Employee Benefits industry would be an advantage
• Experience in using VBA, SQL, R, Tableau or Power BI would be an advantage l17.3o
