Senior Application Analyst - Finance

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Senior Application Analyst to join their team in Qatar. The purpose of this role to lead application analysts and developers supporting corporate applications, providing work direction and guidance to junior staff including the scheduling, assignment, and review of project work ensuring adherence to the overall IT strategy. To design, document, develop and test software / business solutions ensuring efficient and cost effective implementation of IT strategy. Demonstrates broad exposure to all aspects of applications programming including file design, update, storage, and retrieval. May manage small or sub projects involving others members of the family. The successfully candidate will report to Head of Applications Manager.

POSITION INFO:

Key Accountabilities 

• Lead the application team to support corporate Finance Applications by setting and monitoring standard processes and practices.
• Manage the performance and development of the Finance Application support team, setting individual and team targets and monitoring progress and standards.
• Lead the development of systems documentation and approval for standards to be observed by staff in carrying out the I.T. Development role.
• Liaise with functional departments to determine requirements and prioritises work programmes to best meet Organisation objectives and achieve optimum deployment of resources.
• Develop software solutions and guide the development team on complex work to meet required specification.
• Produce detailed test scripts/plans for self and other members of the family to ensure detailed testing is carried out to identify faults.
• Make technical recommendation to the business to assist others in the decision-making and evaluation processes.
• Integrate new systems into current systems ensuring no adverse effect on their operation of efficiency.
• Provide input to the project planning process in order that project plans are developed effectively.
• Monitor progress of programming work and provide clarifications and guidance if required.
• Coach less experienced colleagues and users to ensure skills and knowledge are developed in order for them to operate effectively in job roles.
• Conduct fault investigation and either fix or escalate to suppliers in order to ensure the satisfactory resolutions of faults.
• Support staff in the use of new systems, packages and upgrades to ensure they are utilized to maximum effect.
• Manage small or sub projects to contribute to an overall project, involving other levels to assist in the completion of the plan.
• Assume responsibilities for those aspects of the HSE management systems over which they have control
  
  

• Degree in computer science or relevant discipline. 
• Must have both technical & functional knowledge of ERP FINANCE Application and database structure
• Minimum 7 years’ experience,  +5 years’ experience of ERP FINANCE Applications with preference to Oracle E-Business Suite.
• Must have clear understanding of account creation cycle in Oracle E-Business Suite.
• +5 years of Programming experience in at least one of these (PL/SQL, Oracle Forms & Report, OAF) 
• Must have at least one/two implementation experience of any Oracle E-Business module 
• Must have fair knowledge Business Intelligent reporting tools (Oracle Discoverer) 
• Knowledge of proven FINANCE Application Implementation Methodology 
• Advanced  knowledge of standard office applications
• Ability to lead small team
• Fair understanding of Planning, organising and Time management skills
• Ability to solve problems 
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Knowledge of business processes
• Good command of English language and well – developed report writing skills.
