SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity is available for a Building Physicist / Building Performance Engineer to join an innovative R&D team focused on advanced construction technologies. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing building envelope performance, using simulation and testing to improve energy efficiency, moisture control, durability, and acoustic performance.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Conduct hygrothermal analysis to assess moisture movement, condensation risk, and drying performance Perform thermal modeling and thermal bridging assessments to improve building envelope efficiency Support whole-building energy performance optimization through simulation Develop airtightness and acoustic performance solutions Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to design and validate testing programs Analyze and interpret test results to support product development and performance improvements Skills & Experience: Minimum 5-8 years' experience in building performance analysis Facade engineering, building envelope design, or materials R&D Strong understanding of heat, air, moisture, and acoustic performance in buildings Experience with simulation software such as WUFI, THERM, flixo, Design Builder, Energy Plus, or similar Knowledge of building energy standards, regulations, and weatherproofing principles Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, Building Physics Master's Degree or PhD in Building Science, Sustainable Building Technology will be advantageous Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered Connect with us on and Register your CV to create a profile and to view all our Engineering recruitment vacancies.
