SUMMARY:
A well-established business based in Sandton is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Business Accountant to join their finance team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the financial reporting function, ensure compliance across the business, manage reconciliations and audits, and assist in improving financial processes and controls. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Accounting

Take ownership of the monthly and annual financial reporting process
Process supplier and customer invoices
Prepare monthly management accounts
Review reconciliations from the general ledger to balance sheet monthly
Ensure audit readiness and maintain a clean, efficient audit file annually

Banking & Reconciliations

Prepare and review monthly creditors reconciliations
Prepare and review bank and petty cash reconciliations
Review all payments before approval and ensure timeous payments

Compliance & Process Improvement

Manage all tax submissions and payments, ensuring ongoing compliance
Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures across the business
Document, improve, and streamline financial processes
Ensure all supporting documentation is accurately maintained and uploaded

Requirements:

BCom Accounting degree
SAIPA or CIBA accreditation
Minimum 4 years’ relevant accounting experience
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
