SUMMARY:

Senior Civil Engineer (Contract) based in Sasolburg, with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector. Candidates are required to reside in (or relocate to) Sasolburg.

POSITION INFO:

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Assists the Client with conceptual project development on civil / structural portion of the scope
Develops civil / structural conceptual design, basic engineering (FEED) package and preliminary quantities
Provide man-hour estimates for civil / structural engineering works and manage engineering man-hour budget
Produce civil / structural detail engineering design
Coordinate the production of engineering calculations for civil and structural works
Coordinate the production of civil and structural drawings with Civil Designer on site or at head office
Provide quantity estimates necessary for the development of contract requisition documents
Produce contract requisition document and the final Bill of Quantities
Coordinate and manage the communication between various departments for design input
Conduct technical bid evaluation and adjudication in selecting subcontractors / suppliers / vendors with respect to all civil / structural works
Coordinate and manage the communication between Clients and Subcontractors / suppliers / vendors with respect to all civil / structural works
Conduct site inspections
Coordinate, produce and approve any technical queries from clients / subcontractors / suppliers / vendors with respect to all civil / structural works
Supports the Client’s QA / QC processes with respect to all civil / structural works

Skills & Qualifications:

BSc (Eng.), B Eng or B Tech Engineering
Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA
+8 relevant post graduate civil / structural engineering experience
Experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry is preferred.
